December 8th is the anniversary of John Lennon's death...
I have received an e mail communication from Yoko Ono noting that fans are invited to visit the "Imagine Peace" website to view a special message and video.
On December 8th, 11:15 pm (local time), Yoko asks that fans remember John by taking a quiet moment of reflection...play a song, sing "Imagine", or imagine a world of peace...knowing that each of you are together at one moment in time sharing a beautiful spiritual experience.
I have posted the music video "Give Peace a Chance"...
(below)
What was your memorable moment?
Yoko says,
Send in stories and photos of what you did on December 8th to:
stories@imaginepeace.com
That would be lovely!
With deepest love
Yoko Ono Lennon

Thanks for the "heads up" on Yoko's request. It's so hard to believe that John has been gone 27 years. I recall the entire tragedy like it happened yesterday. I was a 30 year-old teacher with wife and baby and I was so grief stricken that I walked around crying the entire week. I remember seeing a picture of John, Yoko and Sean enjoying themselves at the circus at Madison Square Garden. I felt good about seeing john looking so serene and content. Just a fellow Dad, taking his family to the circus. I recall seeing a picture in Rolling Stone of John sitting up in bed at the Dakota, and on his nightstand were a bottle of his vitamins. The same vitamins I took! I along with so many fans felt a personal connection to him. Like ....losing a big wise ass brother, who could be annoying at times, but alway's spoke the truth. Geez, ....we did love him didn't we?
Dear Miles Davis:
Yes, I certainly had a fondness for the man.
He (and the Beatles) were a part of my youth, for sure.
Two favorite moments were...seeing the Beatles for the first time on the Ed Sullivan Show...and years later, listening to the "White" album.
As to John & Yoko...
Many felt Yoko broke up the group, but that was not true. As John noted for the record, the Beatles were kaput about the time she sauntered into the picture.
No matter what people say...Yoko made John happy and that is what matters.
If you recall, when they broke up briefly, John was so unhinged by the separation - that he often showed up at local LA BARS drunk and disorderly (one night with a tampon on his head) - and, it was not until they reunited, that his life got back on kilter again.
A great love story...
It's easy to understand why Yoko holds the candle for John to this day.
Kind regards!
Julian
